LONDON, AUGUST 4.

Information has been received that the troops of the Ameer of Afghanistan are attacking the Hazara tribes which recently mutinied against his authority.

Professor Artimius Vambery, the great authority on Russian affairs, declares that the rebellion in Afghanistan is becoming serious, and that it has been brought about by Russina influence. He regards it as a certainty that Abdurahmann, the Ameer, must ultimately appeal to Great Britain for assitance.

Affairs in Afghanistan are becoming critical. It is reported that two British mail carriers have been shot at Gomal.
